Original yellow vellum binding with spine title and cover vignette, gilt head edge. 17th printing by the Bear Press, one of 25 numbered copies of the special edition. Bound in yellow vellum and with an additional colored wood engraving by Karl-Georg Hirsch. The binding was hand-bound by W.G. Kießig. The text of "The Winter's Tale" was based on the first printing in Wieland's "Teutsche Merkur" (January & February 1776), which was reproduced unchanged. Immaculately preserved.
