Dark blue original morocco binding with rich gilt spine, cover borders, inset metal plates with the inscription "Berthold" on the covers, gilt on the top and inside edges, and full gilt edges. - (Signed: Hand-bound Fritzsche AG). - This catalog of Hebrew and Jewish typefaces is the first of its kind. From the preface: "The catalog contains not only typefaces themselves, but also numerous examples of how they can be used in books and fine prints. It is a model collection for the Hebrew typographer, intended to facilitate their connection to Western printing." Joseph Tscherkassy initially ran a type foundry in Kiev under his own name before joining Berthold AG in Berlin. A flawless copy in a magnificent binding by Fritzsche AG.
