The illustrations are based on copperplate engravings by Philipp Otto Runge. Reprint of the 1803 edition, newly set from Rudolf Koch's Spring publication. The Hamburger Presse was founded in 1918 by the bookseller Walther Barth; its artistic directors were Anton Kling and the bookbinder Franz Weisse. Exceptionally beautiful hand-bound, presumably a work by Johannes Gerbers. - Rodenberg 155.
