Original, fire-red morocco binding with rich punch and fillet gilding, gilt lettering on the sides and inside edges, marbled paper endpapers, and full gilt edges. (Monogrammed: WW Wiener Werkstätte). The texts are by Expeditus Schmidt, a Lutheran and Franciscan priest who converted to Catholicism and was also active as a writer. The texts: The Three Wise Men – Walburga – Maria Annunziata – Adalbert – Ferdinand – Vitus – Modestus – Crescentia – Christopher – Johanna Francisca von Chantal – Justina and Cyprianus – Franciscus Seraphicus, Clement, and Nicholas – illustrate the twelve images of saints by the painter-poet Franz Pocci. Remarkably beautiful binding by the Wiener Werkstätte. Immaculately preserved.
