The novel is correspondingly rare, especially since it is presented here in the best binding version with the illustration by Ottomar Starke. "When Gregor Samsar awoke one morning from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a monstrous vermin." This is how Kafka's perhaps most famous story begins.
