Hesse, Hermann

One hour past midnight

Leipzig, Eugen Diederichs 1899

First edition. - 4 ton. 84 pages. Red original cloth binding with cover title and Art Nouveau decoration. "An Hour Behind Midnight" is a volume containing nine sketchy "prose studies" by Hermann Hesse. In this book, Hesse recounts his "artist's dream world." A very rare edition of his second publication. It was published in an edition of 600 copies, which were largely destroyed at Hermann Hesse's request. A very fine copy. - Mileck I, 2 - Wilpert/Gühring 2/2
