With an additional signed suite of all 60 original lithographs in original folder. The imprint is also signed by the artist. Chouans was the first work Balzac signed with his name. He quickly added a "de" to it when his success began to open the Parisian salons to him. The story depicts the tragic end of a young nobleman, one of the last royalist resistance fighters against the revolutionary regime.
